This is a seriously impressive accomplishment for a smallish state. There are a lot of people responsible for this, but I want to give a shout out to Sue Herbst who was president when this run began. I had the opportunity to work with her a bit, and she was an impressively skilled administrator (and I loathe administrators! ).

Fascinating - tied with Penn State and Rutgers. All 3 tied as #63 in National Universities, a listing headed by Princeton.
Impressive list. Not being in academia, a few curve balls (UC Santa Barbara in the public jumped out, I had no idea). UCLA #1, Cal#2, UCSB, UC - San Diego, UC - Irvine and UC - Davis all in the top 10 public. Wow. The rest of the schools ahead of UConn / Rutgers / Penn State are all Power 5 athletic teams except William & Mary (which I didn't know was public). Interesting.
