The Guinness Book of Records for most cupcakes inhaled by an angry troupe of tigers!!! Mulkey naturally starts her season with a couple of exhibitions, but she then pivots to #288 Nicholls! Next is a big challenge from #48 FGCU and a break with #158 ULL! AAC POWERHOUSE # 75 Tulane is next followed by #247 New Mexico State! The she faces #25 Missouri St and # 23 Iowa State, but detours to # 300 Texas Southern, # 312 Alcorn State & #326 New Orleans! # 72 Clemson is next, followed by #73 Texas Tech & #160 Samford! 163 is the average ranking of her OOC cupcakes!!! I'm told that Coach Brender Frese is furious at Mulkey's cupcake fiesta.......... www.kalb.com/2021/09/08/lsu-womens-basketball-announces-schedule-2021-22-season/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=snd&utm_content=kalb

Well, if it wasn't for her history and also who she took over from, it might be an understandable first year sched. But, no. The most amazing thing is how she gets 2 non-power 5 schools in a destination tourney. That is a weak schedule.
A lot of that going around, of course. I think there needs to be incentive for better schedules, but I'm not sure I know what it is. The "right" weak schedule could game the old RPI, not sure about the system they are using now.

She wants instant wins to build the fan base as fast as she can and help with recruitment. Can't say I blame her for this strategy.

She wants instant wins to build the fan base as fast as she can and help with recruitment. Can't say I blame her for this strategy. Kim had often done the same with Baylor, playing 3rd & 4th rate schools and relying on the B12 schedule to lift her RPI/SOS. The new system doesn't reward wins vs. patsies like the RPI did. She is starting with a mediocre roster and trying to teach them a new system. She'll be in the top 4 of the SEC in 3 years because she can recruit and that's enough to get you into the top 10. It will be interesting to see if Texas women are willing to leave home but in any case she has 1 more title than Dawn and could end up out-recruiting her. I've never liked her whining, like after the E8 game, I always enjoy her competitiveness and the sideline show. I expect her to land more than one elite 2023 recruit.

She's done well--not great, but well--in the portal. It wouldn't surprise me if LSU is contesting for #2 in the SEC already this year.
