The USA's 1 loss, to Russia, was a sh-t show... poor defense, mental lapses, fouls, and poor shooting... the game was reduced to 1v1 street ball w/ USA on offense... must improve to advance any further...

The USA Team needs to play smarter and together! Way too many dumb fouls, missed free throws and even made the mistake of not 'clearing' once when they had possession?? They started out the game strong, but withered down the stretch? On the bright side, Ayanna Patterson has had some amazing blocks during this tournament and she's gonna be very Gabbyesque @ UConn! |

They played a great game today, defeating Estonia 18-4 and they'll play Germany tomorrow / Sunday @ 7:20 AM on the FIBA Youtube

USA beats Germany 15-14 to make it to the finals vs Spain.
I know there's a short shot clock but the USA play without screens, mostly one on one.

I see why people were high on Barker. Energy. Size. Plays D. True. Clearly super-talented and plays within herself. I'm betting a toss-up between Duke and SC for her. SC might just look too stacked already. But I have to say that I didn't like the kind of ball I saw there. Crazy frenetic. 3 on 3 should highlight essential individual skills, and this was the opposite. |

So what are we thinking of Patterson after these games? Reminds me of Aubrey early in her freshman campaign. Oozing with potential. A little raw. Wasn't hitting with regularity even when she got good shots. Great hustle. |

Wasn't hitting with regularity even when she got good shots. Great hustle. agree. Ken above called her Gabbyesque, and I think that fits. Lots of raw talent that needs to improve on the fundamentals. She's definitely going to the right place for her. Barker and Rice were the stars. I'm blown away by Barker's overall physical presence and athleticism. She has the obvious makings of a superstar. She wants to go to a southern school, and I'm hoping it's not SC.  |

Duke would be fascinating, but I don't think Kara has the base there yet. I think you may need to cross your toes and arms and legs and maybe eyes to muster enough juju to keep her out of Dawn's hands. I am surprised she didn't have Kim on her finalists list. |
