When McCallie lost Z to UConn, she bad-mouthed Geno. Geno, in return, sarcastically said that Duke must be a terrible place to recruit to. With Kara there, Duke again becomes one of the supremely attractive places to go.
I think the stupidest reason a recruit can chose a school is on its academic reputation (I won't bore everyone again with why I think that). But recruits are sometimes persuaded by it, and Duke certainly has that.
What otherwise seems attractive is climate, campus culture, and especially the amazing rivalry with essentially "cross-town rival" North Carolina that will emerge for two women's teams where there is already frenzy in men's basketball. And the ACC is going to be a great basketball conference.

And the ACC is going to be a great basketball conference. Joanne - "Coach P" and Brenda were quick to cast aspersions in that case, but either would have jumped upon the same opportunity. Freese certainly has done so throughout her career. |
