Unpopular opinion - Is anyone surprised of the national attention PB gets seeing she’s never been to a national championship game?
PB clearly is very very talented but it’s not like she has put up Michael Jordan like stats with rings.
A bit cart before the horse? All the accolades before hardware earned?

Everyone knows that’s HVL. The one that got away for me!! Unpopular opinion - Is anyone surprised of the national attention PB gets seeing she’s never been to a national championship game? PB clearly is very very talented but it’s not like she has put up Michael Jordan like stats with rings. A bit cart before the horse? All the accolades before hardware earned? ahem. MJ was a bit above average at UNC. He changed the game, but not until the pros. Bueckers is one of the most searched terms on Google and on YouTube. Every article with Paige in the title or thumbnail is read by thousands of people who would otherwise be unlikely to see it. If you're a writer ... and want success ... duh! Point deux: she was the best player on one of the best teams. How many freshmen are the literal team leader? Trois: If you wait for excellence to already have happened, there's not much fodder for stories. Quatro: If the only praise worth giving is to someone who has won an NC, then your list of subjects is down to Stanford. Cinco: WCBB would never get any press if we hold off until after they win. Most candidates would already be off to the W. |

I'm a really crappy historian (for a lot of reasons, actually). But all I had to do was read semper's allusion to Louisville to figure it out. Sheeeeeesh. |
