As a team they went 2-20 from three range.. 12-64 overall... 19 turnovers... Maybe named for the Arabian desert? I admired the Egyptian team. Clearly, there was no way they could possibly win. And they have all kinds of cultural challenges to developing the kind of women's sports culture that the West enjoys. But they played hard, supported each other, and seemed to get joy in the small successes they did have. |

You want scoring..? Ok, AZzi Fudd scores first 8 points for USA. Two threes and a lay up... News flash... Fudd is really, really good... Score is 16-3 USA... Egypt is 1-10 shooting... 3 blocked Azzi now 10 pts... 4-4 Fudd another three...!!! 5-5, she has 13 pts, Egypt 5... 1st quarter over... 34-7 USA Azzi is gonna piss off some TOB trolls when Geno starts her as a freshman!!! It worked out pretty darn good for Paige & UConn last season!! |

Azzi plays exactly UConn ball. She was made for UConn and UConn was made for her. Doesn't force anything. Doesn't dribble around (like a couple of others). Crisp movements, crisp passing. Just the perfect UConn guard. Only 1 turnover again today, she can shoot better than Annie Oakley and she passes!!! Geno needs to buy another Ferrari!!!  Look at these stats!!!! She shot 7-8, 4-5 on 3's, had 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, efficiency of 27 & only 1 turnover!!! That turnover was when, instead of looking to pass at mid-court, she dribbled behind-the-back. She almost had an earlier turnover on that same move. That move will draw the attention of Geno and CD! Look who else noticed............. |
