Fudd and DeBerry
It's halftime with USA leading by a lot. Can't say the caliber of play is very impressive.
The announcer some coach from Dallas is even less impressive.

On occasion he would mention the name of a player but most of the time he didn't.

USA crushing Italy 48-14. Italy shooting 5 for 31 from the field, 16%. They are bad.
Azzi did not start, but played 13+ minutes. The most of any player. Nice 3 point shot from the corner and 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal. Caitlin Clark (Iowa) is 0-3...😳. USA is shooting 47% from the field, including 6-12 from three...
Game is on You Tube, but I’m just following stats...
PS - Amari DeBerry has not played...☹️

Four of five starters are currently freshman becoming sophomores rather than incoming freshman class. The exception is Payton Verhulst, who will be a freshman at Louisville this fall

3 minutes to play, USA up by 53 points...
Amari finally in with 6:06 to go in the game. 4 seconds later she fouls, Italian misses 2 free throws, DeBerry grabs the rebound. 30 seconds later scores then blocks a shoot... way to fill the stat sheet Amari..!

96-37 final... DeBerry played the final 6:06 of the game. 2 pts on 1-2 shooting, 1 rebound and a block. 2 fouls
Clark filled the stat sheet, but only 5-13 shooting, including 2-8 from three. 4 fouls, but 4 assists and 3 rebounds. 13 points...
Top scorers for USA were Sonia Citron with 15 and Jewel Spear with 14.
Azzi played 21+ minutes (2nd most) ,5 pts on 2-3 shooting. 3 assists, 2 boards and a steal.

Announcer was beyond bad. Too bad the players don’t wear numbers so you can identify them...oh wait, they do...!! 😎

The game was slightly better than the announcer, had to mute that guy. Citron does look like a real player. First time I've seen Betts, she's tough down low, but looks slow to me even for a big. That Spears looks good too, Wake Forest. Really? Game with Aussies tomorrow should be much better game.

Fudd ended up playing 21 min. Deberry played 6. Fudd took 3 shots, made 2 for 5 pts. Fudd played mostly on the weakside perimeter.
I'm sure Close will take crap for not using her more but I was just happy to see her playing. She showed quick feet on defense, staying in front of her man very well. If there are lingering effects from her injury I didn't see any.
The game itself was a total mismatch.
