Stewart,Charles and Bueckers. Possibly Collier if she's not too PO'd over how she was treated by Staley during this Olympics.

In my humble opinion, I think Big Moma Stef is a lock for the 3x3 team in Paris. Hopefully, Katie Lou will be there, too. On the 5x5 team, so long as she's healthy, I can't see Tina Charles not making the team. She's been instrumental not only in her playing but in her sportsmanship - not starting, but being great when she's on the floor, and a wonderful teammate off. Stewie is a no-brainer and Pheesa, too. So long as they're healthy, I can't see them not being on the team. If Paige isn't on the team, somebody's not watching... She's the epitomy of a great teammate and phenomenal player. In my estimation, she's the heir to Sue Bird. Depending on how well Azzi plays, the olympic committee may need another deadly shooter and knowing how UCONN players mesh easily over generations, she would be an asset. But I'm still enjoying this year's olympic team.

No way Azzi and Bueckers would be on the team - unless Auriemma is the coach.

No way Azzi and Bueckers would be on the team - unless Auriemma is the coach. Not very likely but .... A year ago I was predicting the sort of year that Bueckers ended up having but was repeatedly reminded that " she hasn't done anything yet". Fudd's knee injury prevented me from seeing her play anywhere close to to as much as I watched Bueckers but her shot is art and Geno said a few weeks ago that she has pro-ready footwork, coming into college. She is a bit shorter than Bueckers but much more muscled with shoulders. She will likely be the high scorer for UConn this season and next summer making an Olympic team as a college junior will be discussed seriously. Sometimes you just know. I knew about Tiger Woods when I saw him playing in his first US Amateur.

Charles, however, will be 37 come the next Olympics. Will she be in top form then? What other posts/forwards will step up in the meantime? So, I leave it open but possible that Charles could be on the team.

Remember the next Summer Olympics is in only three years. I think Azzi, even if she proves to be as great as advertised, might be too young to make the team considering all the other talent that will be older and more experienced. But, who knows.

I'd love to see Gabby make the team.
However, while it is not uncommon for a player to change the country they represent in a subsequent Olympics there is a rule that three years must pass they last competed for different nation. Normally, three years would be a nonissue, but with this years delay, that may turn out to be a problem. The next Olympics start 26 July 2024, less than three years since she last competed. While I hope the Olympic organization would make an exception, they are not known for being especially flexible.

Too bad. She really got screwed this year by the powers that be...losing the whole season. Crazy.
