To me it looks like torture. But those two are what we used to call jocks. Jocks lived for anything athletic and they loved to compete. Geno won a lotto when he signed Bueckers and Fudd. Work is play to them.

I can see Edwards not being shy in practice.

Agree completely and not trying to be a debbie downer, but this was posted today over on the Tenn board about South Carolina. Not that we can't beat 'em, but our work is definitely cut out for us:
Boston(6'5) and Cardoso(6'7) will likely start and share the 4/5 spots. Amihere (6'4) (Canadian Nat'l team), Saxton (6'2) and Feagan(6'4) (Nat'l U18 team) provide strong rotation depth. There are 15 ladies on the roster this season, and 13 of them are former 5* players, 11 are former McDonald's AA and Amihere would have been also had she played HS ball in the states.
There are freshman, led by Raven Johnson (Nat'l U18 team, #2 ranked ) and Saniya Rivers (#3 ranked) that will play important minutes. If Staley does not mess up the recipe, this team is going to be her best team yet.

I'll still take our players over everyone else's, we did beat SC and Baylor last year and we're going to be WAY better this year.

We beat SC when Boston missed an easy tap-in at the buzzer and Paige exploded in the OT. We have the best backcourt players in the game--maybe even in the history of the game...time will tell. SC has incredible size and talent up front. We could end up playing them 3 times this year. Should be fun...

Wow. Can't imagine doing anything like that when I was their age. Watching them is inspiring. Can't wait to see them on the court.

SCar will dominate inside against most teams. But they have the same nice problem as UConn, a lot of talent and only 200 minutes/game. Bueckers dominated both Cooke and Henderson. They may list at 5'7 & 5'9 but are shorter. Now UConn has Fudd. Both UConn guards will be able to shoot over them. And unlike SCar, UConn doesn't need 2 or 3 offensive rebounds to make one basket. SCar fans have good reason to be excited but like most SEC schools they favor size over everything else. They may lead the country in offensive rebounds and are certainly good enough to beat UConn but I doubt it will happen. Staley has had other huge lineups in the past and I recall their fans chirping about how UConn would be run into exhaustion by the Gamecock size and depth. It was SCar doubled over, exhausted. And then like now they couldn't matchup against UConn's backcourt.

But SC has so much size that they can rotate folks quite effectively and maybe exhaustion won't be an issue. But, like you, I have faith in our guys and also in Dawn figuring out a way to have her team underperform.

I am very, very happy with our team, but SC scares me.
