I am sure Lou is happy for Stef and the others, but there has to be a lot of disappointment as well. I know how it feels to miss out on competing for a title. 44 years ago, but the emotional disappointment of missing out competing on the mile relay team that won second in states is still there. Coaches decision, not that I wasn't good enough on split times.

I dropped out of an ultra-long distance cycling event (800 miles in under 90 hrs...unsupported) half-way through because I thought the ride had become too dangerous (in fact, two cyclists died on the second half). I still have some regrets. |
