Looking at that play in slo-mo, what happens is that on the break, both Lou and Gabby got down quickly and both were on the same guy underneath. As the ball ends up in the corner with a trap, Gabby recognizes that Lou is screening off that underneath player effectively, so she can release to pick up the only open, trailing Cardinal. That she can cover so much court so quickly to intercept is amazing. She was a champion high jumper (or broad jumper?) in high school, and that really helped her here.

Gabby was the Nevada Girls Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year TWICE!!
