A poor relative to Mothers Day. I don't know about that. I get to cook, clean up afterward and also do the dishes.
Even so it was nice to have the kids and grand kids over for a cookout. Quite different from last year.

I was very pleased that my oldest son came over to wish his dad a Happy Father's Day. I don't know if he is still drinking as heavily as he was, but he has lost weight and seems less anxious around us. He and his dad are not exactly close, so the fact that he came over to wish him a HFD in person is a sign he is trying. It was a great Father's Day for all of us.
