I thought I just heard something about D'Antoni on PTI. Not being an NBA fan, it sort of goes in one ear and out the other, sometimes.
I'm not sure why Staley would go - so far as I know NBA Head Coaches don't make all that much money (all things being relative, of course) and have very poor job security. Plus, while I'm sure she could be successful, it isn't the "world" in which she has been living. As opposed to Becky who has been in the NBA for a number of years.

The average NBA HC salary is around $3M with the top tier making between $7 and $11M a year.

I had assumed for some reason that salaries were between 1 and 2 million. Maybe they were last time it came up, as I say I really don't follow the league.

The money isn't that much better. So, is this leverage for a big new deal with SCar? Or does she want to trailblaze (snork) with the guys?

I had no idea her name would ever come up for an NBA job. Did someone in her camp put it out there that she would be interested or is it just one of those made up idle speculation type of things?

I think there is little probability of this coming to pass. Out of the blue.

I think Becky will stay put and see what happens when Popovich retires. Interestingly, Kara Lawson's name was raised as a potential hire for the Celtics job. Doubt she would leave Duke so soon, but a compliment from the Boston media to seriously float her name.

I still think Dawn is too old and too small to play point for the Trailblazers...

Dawn's record of successful recruiting is stellar. She's built that program from doormat nobodies to national contenders. Quite a few players got a lot better under her care. How many others can claim the same?
Geno picked her to join his Team USA coaching staff, too. That's another feather in her cap.
Those things suggest she's a pretty stinking good coach.
Will Kara be as good or better? I hope so, but that's one crazy-steep mountain to climb. I do like her thoughtful approach.

However, if the next Celtics coach does not meet expectations, Lawson would be the favorite as the next coach.
