Thanks, Ken!
Problems that we have in front of us are hard enough to solve. But trying to solve a problem before it is actually a problem is lunacy. Given the incredible incompetence of the NCAA, it seems to me better to let individual states/schools establish their own approaches to NIL and then see where that leads. If the disparities become so great as to create massive advantages, the market should take care of them: namely, the disadvantaged schools will raise their NIL.
The big problem is the rich schools (in terms of top athletes who are visible and will gain most from their NIL) will get richer and the poor schools will get poorer.
But we live in mean times. This is just another example.

This is just another example. the NCAA is teetering on the brink. The p5 would love to make their own rules. NIL and pay for play, shoe scandals, using off sports to get accepted for a small er donation, recruiting with strippers, and a million other bits threaten the card-castle that is his empire. Eliminate the role of keepers of fairness, and what is he but an event promoter with a side-show, with the Tattooed Lady and the two-headed goat. If he's not terrified, he may be too dim to see straight.
