Brad Stevens will now be available. He has a great eye for talent and can coach. In many ways, I prefer someone outside the Geno tree. Inside the tree it is either Shea or Berube.

Isn't he the new Celtics GM? Why would he retire from coaching only to coach again? And why would he move from Boston to Storrs? And why would he take a massive pay cut? |

1. He likes coaching but had it with the egos.
2. He is just the GM until his contract is up.
3. He is not a big city guy.
4. It is a perfect job for him.
Why NOT him?

We get him for 5 years and we get 5 years to plan for the future. If the AD isn't, he should be fired immediately. I know people want one of "our girls" to take over but to force that is foolish. When a better option pops up, we should pursue it. Bring him into the staff. Let him see if he likes it. If not, there are other options. And, luckily, at least a couple are not Renee Montgomery. |
