Just happy my Wildcats are moving on. Rumor is getting persistent that Coach Candrea - the all time winningest coach - is retiring at the end of the season. I really, really hope not.
Like anything else, he will be passed - Carol Hutchins at Michigan is a couple years younger and but 30 or so wins behind. His 8 World Series wins is also a record, but Oklahoma is going for their 5th under Patty Gasso this year. UCLA has more championships, but they involve at least 2 coaches.

First game is cinderella James Madison vs. OK State.

wow, what a win by James Madison. Odicci Alexander is such a great athlete and what a heart. Fantastic play in the 7th to save her own game.

Alabama looked tremendous against an outstanding UCLA team. Montana Fouts is a freakish pitcher. At 6'1" she throws an unhittable rising fastball.

Oklahoma vs. Florida State. Go Seminoles.
While it would take too long to detail why I don't like certain teams, I'll offer a few Oklahoma bits:
- They have historically been tough for Arizona in past tourneys.
- They enticed Shelby Pendley away from Arizona and then recruited family members. All stars.
- They have a built in home field advantage (even though it isn't their home field) at Hall of Fame Stadium
- Patty Gasso never seems to have much personality
- They have 'tude. I prefer underdogs, they haven't been an underdog in years.
In other words - Go Seminoles! I can't think of any sport that I actively don't like Florida State in.

I'm rooting for FSU also, though I rarely like them in other sports. I just don't want to see OK win. I was really, really hoping that UCLA would get to the finals. That would have been the natural opponent to OK (and fun to have Tom Brady's niece on the field!), but, wow, did they stink up when they got to the World Series.... |

OK too strong, period. Someone on the old BY was ranting about Patti Gasso seeming to come off as entitled. That sums up exactly my feeling about her. and her team.

That throwing error at the top of the 6th in yesterday's game just seemed to change everything.
