And they'll be playing again tomorrow! Today they defeated Uruguay 22-5 and Germany 21-12! Here's the games:

I watch this and it reminds me of the "barn ball" I played with my buddies and some of their sisters. The girls told us they were "prepping for Syracuse." It was before "Q's" time but the same mentality.

Germany engaged in a fair amount of uniform grabbing. Last week's games with France were rougher I think.

Loving the photo of Stef! Best part is that the whistle blew and Steph picked that player up with a genuine smile. i admit to being surprised seeing our Big Mama on the 3x3 squad. Worried about foot speed. Wow, was I colossally wrong! Dolson is absolutely great in this format. Very smart. Strong inside. Hits her bunnies. Smooth touch facing up. Dangerous from deep. The best passing big in the game. She is also the clear leader on the team, but with servant leadership. Ferocious as needed, and able to lighten things up at will with a smile, and a few words. Gray and Plum need that. Most teams come without a true big, opting for quickness and shooting range, so she is unguardable and very hard to keep off the boards. Stephanie has always been a beast on the pick and roll, and routinely picks two players, clearing a boulevard for a layup. So they go under the pick giving her teammates open looks from the arc. Frustrated, they try and switch, leaving a guard to try stopping Steph on the roll and layup, giving up size, speed, and Momentum. Killer. Lou is contributing much more than catch and shoot as well. |

I had recently read a story about Big Mama Steph changing her diet and workouts during the past year! I believe she dropped almost 30 lbs, added muscle, increased stamina and she does look really focused!! They won their first game today and will play again at about 11:55 EST: |

Loving this. And the announcer is incredible. Who is that guy? Can't he give some of the other announcers for regular games some schooling? Yes, he actually calls the games with an awareness of the sport and a sense of humor!!! I forget his name though............  |

(and will those Olympic games actually happen?) The Japanese are a very educated and organized culture and they'll do their utmost to make it happen safely!
