I almost never read anything that people (so-called prognosticators) like Charlie Creme write. They are paid to take up space on a page (Internet pages mostly). And their opinions are as good as yours and mine. With regard to Creme's specialty, the NCAA tournament brackets, has anyone actually calculated how accurate Creme's brackets are? I wonder.

I think banana cream pie would be better. Though whether he is a coconut or just bananas, I guess it is all the same.

Putting Smith #1 was just stirring the pot, since we don't know how she feels about Mulkey (mixed tweets); and whether she'll stay at Baylor for some unknown coach or hit the portal or transfer to LSU. It's just a good story.
And 3 out of the top 25 ain't bad, but the challenge is clear: all 3 of UConn's players are guards. A big needs to be in that mix, and there is plenty of potential for that to happen.

Much as he drives me bonkers sometimes, Charlie is one of the few writers that actually follow the game and stay on top of what is happening. He and his ESPN cohorts are necessary to keep the conversations going. We need them to keep publishing for the sport to grow - even if we have to put up with some frustrating ... positions. I give him pretty good marks for his brackets. He isn't always right of course, but he has good justifications for his picks vs what actually happened. As a writer on other areas of WCBB, he is overly swayed by the most recent news ... When Aubrey put up 28 vs SHU, "UCONN is a one seed." Next game Griffin comes back to earth (which is still pretty darned good), and "UCONN will have trouble scoring against the best teams." I guess he's like the majority of fans on talk radio that way. If the hometown team lost last night, they're going to get stomped in the playoffs and have no chance. If they won, then a title is coming our way for sure!

A million years ago, my girlfriend (now wife of almost 41 yrs) and I drove into the village of Livadeia, Greece late at night; checked into the hotel, and asked where we could get a bite. The desk clerk gave us the name of a taverna. My girlfriend asked: it is any good? the clerk replied: it isn't good, but it's the best in Livadeia.

It has to be remembered that ESPN has the WNBA rights and they do a lot more to promote it than they do for the NCAA season. Smith is a senior and likely the top pick in the 2022 draft. I'm not sure if she is draft eligible next year but in any case Boston plays in the SEC, another ESPN property. ESPN knows that it's more productive to incite fans than to pander to them. Besides, who else but UConn fans care?

I read that this morning, I knew everyone here would go nuts. Who cares, we've got Paige and they don't. We've got the feisty former freshmen, some really good seniors and a bunch of new incoming ferocious freshmen along with excellent coaches! Boston and Cardoso will get in each others way just like Coates and Wilson did a few years ago!! There's no telling what Dawn promised her.................................................. ............................................
