Lazy commissioners didn't want to be bothered to find anyone just a little less incompetent.

Sometimes the politics and dirty tricks of upper-level university administrators can be ludicrous and not conducive to maintaining high academic standards? Florida is notorious for putting retiring state legislators in the president's chairs of our state universities!! We've had 'term limits' for nearly 30 years and the sharp-dressed wolves of our legislatures are crafty beings when it comes to extending their welfare!! On the all too rare occasions that one university president is being forced to leave, he or she often receives glowing reviews for fear of lawsuits among other things?? The NCAA takes bloviating, oblivious bureaucracy a step further with extra layers of do-nothing observers helping to keep student athletes unpaid and themselves over-paid! This ingenious system works well for puppets like Emmert and it might well have been designed based upon Colonel Klink in Hogan's Heroes; but even Klink sometime got it right?? It's takes a special skill-set to keep the NCAA and college athletics unchanged, and Emmert is perfectly suited for the role! I started reading the NCAA blurb on the Board of Governors and felt as if my head was spinning out of control; so I stopped??

Rememeber that book years back call the "Peter Principle" in which people fail Upwards. Excellent Example. And a sharp stick in the eye to WCBB coaches and ADS everywhere.

They are counting on their friends in Congress to pass no legislation, BUT the Supreme Court may endorse state regulation. Sadly, in this age, there is no telling whether any bunch of legislators or bureaucrats will be motivated to do the right thing by the student athletes.

Yes, Dr. Laurence Peter wrote that wonderful tome and it perfectly describes many large-scale organizations where some people are promoted above their levels of competences!! Mark Emmert is the poster child of the Peter Principle!! Holly Warlick, many of our politicians and so many more like Colonel Klink!!
