1. Nancy Mulkey, 6-foot-9 center, super senior, Rice
Among the mid-major names available in the transfer portal, Mulkey is by the far the most intriguing. The 6-foot-9 big won a WNIT title this past season with Rice after averaging 15.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. Her size and length alone would be a huge asset to any team looking to bolster their interior presence, but the fact that she’s so skilled and efficient (57 percent shooter) makes her a top-transfer target. She previously opted-in to Thursday’s WNBA Draft, but removed her name from consideration.
This is from The Athletic, which ranked Dorka just behind Diamond Johnston as top transfer.

I have read more than once that the WNBA gives prospective draftees and idea of where they would get picked. It must be a reality check for many. I would think that Mulky was told she would be unlikely to make a roster and she decided to work on her hame for a year. 6'9 is 6'9. She could give the Gamecocks twin towers.

Maybe we should have waited before offering Dorka? This would be a big addition.

Maybe we should have waited before offering Dorka? This would be a big addition. I don't think they're in the same talent league. Mulkey doesn't have nearly the mobility or offensive skills. Dorka could play pro ball right now, while Mulkey is still sort of a project. But the thought crossed my mind, too, since Geno still has an open scholarship on the roster. I guess it would be hard getting her any playing time.

Maybe we should have waited before offering Dorka? This would be a big addition. A great player at the mid-major level. Interviews suggest she is a quality kid, too. But note that she is transferring because there isn't a likely WNBA roster spot for her ... even in this soft draft class. She is crazy tall, yes. Would need to add 30 pounds or more and still get quicker to make a serious impact at a top tier team.

Seems like there might be an opportunity there.

Natalie was a really good player at Georgetown and transferred to UConn. Geno was ecstatic, undoubtedly thinking she was the second coming of Stef Dolson. But she massively underperformed. She then did a post-bacc year in a mid-major and completely dominated again. I think the take away is that with bigs, especially, it's essential to evaluate them against their competition. Nancy has only one more year and is completely unproven against top competition. Dorka has maybe two years and has proven herself against D-1 competition.

What would Liv's stats have been if she had played the same schedule? Probably even better
