UConn will most likely not be scheduled to play SC, Oregon, and probably Oklahoma due to having contracts in place to play those schools during the 21-22 season. Since it's a round-robin type 12 game format, they'll play 3 out of the remaining 4 schools.

But if they are in the tournament, they might play them twice, it seems, right?

But if they are in the tournament, they might play them twice, it seems, right? No, neither team wants to give the other a free look in what is basically an exhibition/scrimmage in a round robin event.

While I agree that UConn will probably not play South Carolina, what the heck do you mean "exhibition / scrimmage". In season tournament, results are just as important as any other OOC game. With the added advantage that the 3 games count as only 2 in your "# of games played" count.

There are 8 teams playing games over 3 days. Assuming they don't play more than 1 game/day, it's entirely possible to see two separate round robins with two separate champions. So SC and UConn need not necessarily meet.
