Thanks so very much, DD. David, and Phil. You are a very large part of what makes it great to be a UConn fan!

While not a UConn fan, I visited the Doghouse a few times and was SO impressed. Few programs have such devoted fans. The conclusion, that UConn is a favorite for next season, is undeniable. What I am really looking forward to is seeing UConn's OOC games next season - the offense and defense are among the most appealing styles to watch across WBB. How those games go will help to decide just how much of a favorite UConn will be.

Enjoy the off season, DD. You’ve earned some time off. I have a feeling next year will keep you busy on the blog. Rest up. Next season could be a hell of a ride. Thanks for all you do, and thanks to David and Phil, too.
Pop in now and again and let us know how you are doing.

Nice job DD. I agree with pretty much everything you've got here, in particular your perspective on Ono. The people whining incessantly about her have no understanding of her importance to this team. For two years she's been almost their whole interior defense. Without her the decent and top opponents would've run layup drills on UConn. Yes, she can be frustrating on offense but without her defense and rebounding this team wouldn't have gotten past Syracuse in the S16 or run the table in the BE. Good job speaking up for her.

Doggy, thanks so much for all the amazing work and insight over the course of the season! You are a must-read for me EVERY morning that you post. I hope you and the family have a fun-filled off season, your golf is always under par, and you pick up every spare at the bowling alley. David - Your Stats Don't Lie, and always inform! Thank you! Phil - your wide-ranging topics never fail to be interesting. Much appreciated. Like DD said, the future is so bright we have to wear shades!!

Yes, he was so poorly treated, and he didn't give up. And started his great blog. And then we resigned in protest of his treatment. And now we have this comfy little electronic living room for us all to enjoy, hopefully for many years to come. Very excited for the next season, and this one wasn't chopped livah. Just so grateful to all!

DD: Someday I'd like to know that whole TOB story. It was before my time - before I knew that there were fan forums. In my Nanfrontation I wasn't ready to roll over and play dead over her (or her overlord's) stupid rules. And I let her know that. And have never been back. That has to have been 3 years or longer. Glad to have DD here along with Ken and Phil and all the rest who are so knowledgeable about the team.

Lots of us left for different reasons. Mine was mostly the double standard I saw with how much leeway fans of teams not named UConn got in how and what they posted while UConn fans were held to a stricter standard. I believe I recall seeing a post from one of the admins that we should treat the "guests" (i.e. non-UConn fans) with respect while the same was not expected in how these guests interacted with UConn ans. Fans of other teams could get away with posting the most negative UConn things imaginable, but when a UConn fan tried assertively to defend the team, or post in kind about another team or team's players they got the "slap on the wrist with the ruler" and threatened with banning. Instead of being a board for and about UConn, which is what it was when I first joined, it evolved into a board about all WCBB. I realized that the preferential treatment for "visiting" fans was all about increasing click counts to increase ad revenues for the folks running the site and they didn't want the UConn fans to chase them away. You can opt out of the ads by donating to support the site directly - i.e line the pockets of the site owners and admins. The admins over there are paid. I would love to know how much. Some of the mods have their favorites who they let things slide when the same kind of post from someone who has raised their ire will be chastised. And you dare not challenge them about anything, especially on the board. That is one way to get banned immediately.
I was also angry when DD was banned, and it became so incredibly petty that ANY mention of DD, no matter how innocuous, would result in the post being deleted. I mean, a post that said "Anybody in touch with DD? How is he doing?" would be zapped faster than a bolt of lightning hits the earth.
I got fed up with the double standards, blasted Nan in a PM, said adious and never looked back. I have never even tried to log in again, and it has been over 5 years. For all I know I have been banned. And I don't give a rats patootie and don't care enough to try to login. I probably can't remember my password anyway.

So very, very grateful that we have this Board, our mods, our intrepid Blogger without peer DD, David and Phil's pearls of wisdom, and a very active and congenial band of posters. We have the garden, TOB has the swamp. Thanks to all!

What really really pissed me off was when Doggy started his blog, and Nan would remove my posts telling people about it and linking to it. And I was never banned or anything, but I was censored and posts were removed when Doggy was mentioned. That was the last straw. And there is so much nonsense over there, and petty bickering about nothing of import, I think that's what really drives me nuts. Everyone trying to be the smartest person in the room or something. Yuck. And then all the haters, you name it, including haters of UCONN, for the love of God! It's a long boring snarl with several who will correct your grammar to boot. I never go over anymore,m except on rare occasions when things get really sleepy here and I'm dying for a bit of news. But that hasn't happened in a long time as our board is pretty active now. Just right.

I guess I came on TOB just after DD was banned, so I missed an opportunity to leave then, but made up for it later! I ran afoul of the mods a couple of times, but their little spankings were so irrational that I didn't take them seriously. I left because of what I saw them do to others. Finally, when someone who said something quite innocent got publicly humiliated by Tom (who suddenly inserted himself), I just left. I regret not having said goodbye to some very good people, but I figured my PMs to them would never reach them anyway.

Really, this is such a wonderful site for UConn fans. The contributors and mods make it the best place to be. DD's years of hard work? Above and beyond the call of duty. I promote him to General! It has grown slowly and that's fine with me. We started with a small bunch and stayed small for a few years. We had loads of folks sign up, but haven't heard hide nor hair of them. And as you know, you can lurk and read but not post. But as time goes by, we add a folk here and there and comfort level stays steady. It is a good place, and I am glad for its success

The endless repetitive thread after thread on the same subject over there drove me crazy. The fact that we don't have multiples of the same topic is indicative of a. People reading other threads and posting within rather than starting their own on the same subject and b. Good mods that combine like topics to keep things tidy.

If there were a triple like button, I'd hit it for this from Rady:
