Her older sister announces she is transfering too for the 2d times. Maybe they become a package deal.
Anna had the injury jinx 2 years in a row.

So sorry to lose her, but at least her last shot as a Husky was a 3 pt splash.
Do you think Evina's decision to stay was the final straw for her? With Caroline coming in, Anna could well end up 3rd on the depth chart at that position (whatever that position really is at UConn: big guard, shooting wing, whatever....)

In talking about next year's group Geno emphasized their flexibility and said we didn't have that in the last 2 classes. I'll be that stung Anna and also was a warning about tall guards eating up time. Plainly Geno has gotten more liberal in his consideration of roles for freshman.

Oh, I'm so sorry she's going! I didn't expect this, but I agree with what you folks said about playing time and roles.

I am going to miss our Polish Rifle! Wishing Anna and her sister the very best! She is going to be one fantastic pickup for nearly any team in the country. I hope she finds a great landing spot that suits her well ... and I hope that spot doesn't turn out to be somewhere we'll have to root against every game.

Oh, man. This makes me so sad. It really sucks for her to have lost so much time to the injury. She didn’t have much of a chance to solidify her place in the rotation.
Best of luck to her wherever she ends up. I will cheer for her always except, of course, if the team she ends up plays us.
And as an aside to any VN lurkers...this is how true loyal fans of the team treat players who choose to transfer. Not a single “good, I’m glad”, or any disparaging remarks. Just respect for her decision and appreciation for her time at UConn, and well wishes. Of all the places she may land God help her if it is in the land of the Orange checkerboard where the fans have been known to refer to her as Olive Oyl.
Anna, please go somewhere where the fans will embrace you no matter what.

I am so glad for this chart. I like visual representations.
I hope everyone else stays while the roster is loaded next year, when Evina and Olivia and Christyn leave next year, three starting positions will need to be filled. If kids are patient they will get an opportunity.

If those two open spots remain (I can't believe there's anyone in the portal that is likely to get lots of playing time at UConn, unless (say) Boston suddenly appears!), hoping Geno puts Autumn on scholarship. Of course, she might already be on academic scholarship, as she's a brainiac.

Well, that's a surprise. But, to be honest, it is a loss we can handle. We have depth on the wing. We need depth at the 5 spot...of players that can make layups against the best teams.

LOL! Those VN posters who lurk here and post over there what happens and what we say have an interesting take on my response. As a reminder, here is my response.

Terrells Bay88 was less than accurate in relating what is said here. How he/she/it got that I am not supportive of Anna's decision I have not clue. Maybe because I called out that some VN posters have responded by insulting their own players who choose to transfer and who openly wish for other to enter the portal.
His/her/its comment:
another site and UConnterritory is taking her transfer pretty well except for the mods. Over at another site, Nan is threatening to ban posters who speculate about any more transfers and Chappette at UConnterritory is calling out the Vol Nation by saying this how you treat players that transfer from your program by wishing them well and not insulting them as they walk out of the door.
So typical of their blatant misrepresentation of anything regarding UConn. I suppose we should be flattered that they come over here and read us since we are pretty insignificant in the big picture of fan forums. It is rather comical. I am still laughing about the misrepresentation that I am not taking Anna's leaving well.

So sorry to hear this. I enjoyed watching her play. Me too, Phil. She was a great teammate and was so supportive of everyone. But she needs to do what is right for her and I wish her nothing but happiness and success wherever she ends up. Perhaps she and her sister can end up somewhere together. With all the Syracuse players who have left, they have lots of need.

Can play both 4 and 5.

Has UConn ever had a player from Hungary? Anyway, losing a Pole and gaining a Hungarian kinda makes sense....

Poor Anna. What a crappy injury to have sustained. She has plenty of college time left to get playing time and experience with another good team. I wish her well!

Do you think we need anyone? Well, just ask around. Olivia sucks so we need a center. She can move to the end of the rotation.
