Are you ready for some basketball? 1. UConn Huskies How does a Final Four team get any better? That's a loaded question for the Huskies, who have the AP Player of the Year in Paige Bueckers, are adding a generational talent for the second consecutive season and have no seniors. Guard Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 recruit in the country and one of Bueckers' close friends, has a reputation as an elite shooter and will join the Huskies for 2021-22. Three other top-30 recruits enter the mix on a team that is expected to return Christyn Williams, a former No. 1 overall recruit, Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Evina Westbrook, Aaliyah Edwards and Bueckers, the most impactful freshman the game has seen in years. www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/31184173/women-college-basketball-way-too-early-top-25-uconn-reigns-south-carolina-looms

What a mass of talent this coming season. The scrimmages in the off-season would be very entertaining. Maybe better than that. I expect that it's Bueckers' team next season and with Edwards and Fudd the team will have 3 of the top underclassmen in the country. I expect a big jump for Bueckers and Edwards. Bueckers is her own worst critic and has a list of improvements to work on in the off-season. And she'll have Fudd to push her. Those 2 compete about who gets to the gym first. And Edwards is just mature for her experience. That part of her reminds me of Tuck, who was the mature one of the 2012 class. Edwards was amazing this season and would probably start except for ONO being a senior. And no, I don't think ONO is a liability, I think Edwards is better, much better. The freshmen having an entire summer to work should do wonders for everyone. Next season should be better than this past season, much better. And I really enjoyed the one that just ended.

We have GREAT bball coming our way. Just going to be so much fun, just as this season was only much better. There might be fans in the stands, if we don't blow the latest spikes. Imagine that!!! I wish UCONN were playing ND these days, but that is going to be a while.

ND would not be any fun semper and they would just drag down our strength of schedule.

Well, it would be fun for Semper, as Semper could actually get to go to a game (one hopes).....

That's why I suggested it, of course. Purely selfish reasons....

You know, she was never an abbess actually, although she was the head of her community. Magistra is what we usually call her.

Listen... Well all knew they would be Numbah one... I didnt want to get into this, I was going to ignore it, people are talking about it, As we all know ive been numbah one for decades since my time with dog ive been numbah one. I dont want to hear that Im getting beat by Kay, I beat them 60 straight times. Im 60-0. The only way we can be a better team is if Jason Giambi can join the coaching staff. Back afta this..

Bulkey - your post says it all. The only question I have is in the last sentence, if you remove Aaliyah and insert Nika, do we have our starting five? What a great problem to have!

Bulkey - your post says it all. The only question I have is in the last sentence, if you remove Aaliyah and insert Nika, do we have our starting five? What a great problem to have! +1 Even assuming--as some do--that there will be one or two additional folks leaving via the portal, the "core" 6 plus the new comers presents one of the deepest, most talented teams UConn's ever had. Except for the final two games when Nika was injured, Geno was content to have Aaliyah be 6th man. But she has undeniable All-American potential and deserves 30+ minutes/game. Saylor and Caroline won't be pressing to start next year, but do need competitive minutes in anticipation of Christyn and Evina moving on after next year. But Azzi? She will merit major minutes. And how does Geno find time for Aubrey (assuming she remains) but also give Amari some time, as the likely heir-apparent to Liv the following year? One key to this juggling may be an arrangement Evina might have with Geno, that Evina would be content with fewer minutes. Her decision to stay might be based on something other than improving her chances with the WNBA draft. Good problems!!!

E wants to coach, and she is being coached in that regard. So is Paige, who will come along later, but, in my view, will come along. They are very very smart and articulate, and Paige has the Geno-type personality, too.
