Fantastic. Thinking she'd have traded a lot of this hardware for a shot at Stanford tonight.
But let's celebrate everyting!

I just noticed that photo of Paige. Check out that left arm! All I could think of was that Ann Meyers Drysdale was married to the great Don Drysdale who really found peace of mind when he married her, tragically dying way too young. But Don was a mean mother. Wasn't as bad as (say) Barber Sal Maglio, but he'd still slice and dice a hitter who leaned over the plate. Paige is an appropriate winner of an award named for a Drysdale!

Wow, is she raking them in or what!? I hope Geno won't say something too snarky.

I didn’t know that Ann’s Drysdale was Don. Yup: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Meyers#FamilyDrysdale had originally married a fashion model, flight attendant on a spur-of-the-moment, young athlete kind of thing. I remember seeing them on "You Bet Your Life," and Groucho Marx was making very snide and leering comments. When Don found Ann Myers, it was clear he found happiness.
