If McDonald had played like this against UConn, UConn would be playing Stanford tonight. She's out of control and even missing open shots. Stanford's defense is helping her play like that.

Wow. Coming down to the wire. Arizona has its destiny in its hands.

I wanted to sleep. But these two teams had other ideas.

Congrats to Stanford. But, heartbreaking loss for Arizona. They had the chance. Not sure why they didn’t try to pass it in for the layup or foul, but I suspect Barnes wanted the ball in Aari’s hands.

So. . . does anyone have anything to say about the game? Arizona hit 29% of their field goals. Their season average is IIRC 41%. If they were anywhere near their average they win.

Arizona hit 34% of their threes this season. They were 6 for 22 or 29% tonight. If they hit 7 of 22 or 32%, they will still be below their season average but would have won the game.

Aari is a 77% FT shooter. She went 8 for 12. Hit her average, and they have one more point and it goes to OT.

What is it that the Arizona team chants when they are on defense? I can’t make it out. D Up. It isn't just the team, it is the fans as well. The other cheer I heard from the fans was "U of A", which is technically obsolete. D Up seems to be more common among western teams, as opposed to De-Fense. Another odd chant we hear every once in a while from fans - in the East - "Warm up the Bus", out here "Start up the Bus". Interesting.

If McDonald had played like this against UConn, UConn would be playing Stanford tonight. She's out of control and even missing open shots. It was largely Stanford's defense. She always sort of looks out of control, but really isn't. As we always said, worth the price of admission. That said, she was also truly streaky all season. Had she been "off" against UConn OR had UConn been able to defend her like Stanford did, you are correct. Similar to the occasional Rutgers victory over UConn, the reason UConn struggled against Arizona defense was that they hadn't seen it and couldn't reproduce it in practice. Because UConn was as good as it was, Rutgers often held the scoring down, but couldn't score enough to win. Arizona held the UConn scoring down and thanks to Aari was able to score enough to win.

The older you are, the fewer side effects. You must be young, Chappy. 🙂 A few interesting side-effects theories ... Note that these have not been proven, but have been proposed and deemed worthy of research: - A bad set of side effects suggests that a COVID case may have hit that person particularly hard
- People who have had COVID and fought it off ... possibly without knowing it ... are likely to have fewer side effects
- People who happen to have the virus at the time they receive their vaccine, are likely to have more of a reaction
- Exercise - before and after vaccination may reduce side effects
- More hydration leads to fewer/less severe reactions
