Gotta talk HVL tomorrow. This is my sticky note. Is it me, or is this year's freshman class one for the ages? I cannot recall there ever being this many rookies that are this important to top teams. Look down This Hoop Girls listing. Both in quality and quantity, that's one really fantastic class |

Gotta talk HVL tomorrow. This is my sticky note. Is she packing her bags ? I wonder, because the Hailey I saw recently is not the Hailey who started the year. Much less dynamic and scoring less. Jeff was her USA coach but I could see her move on. She's also gained weight by the look of it and for her that is not a good thing. |

She's also gained weight by the look of it and for her that is not a good thing. Her stats did drop off in the second half of the year. With Verhulst coming in next year as a taller, and very talented, 2 guard, it could mean less playing time for Hailey. And now with Engstler transferring in from Syracuse, there's still less time available. |

She's also gained weight by the look of it and for her that is not a good thing. I think she was a critical cog for Louisville this season. That team played better offensively early and seemed to fall back a bit later as it became the Dana Evans show. I feared that UCONN was stumbling into that trap with Paige for a period in the middle there, but they righted the ship. I would be surprised if Hailey left there, since next year, it is essentially her team. She'll move to the point, which better accentuates her strengths, and adding Engstler gives them a nice new assist target ... and defense magnet. Barring transfer surprises, their 2021/22 team has no glaring weaknesses, decent depth, strong media and fan interest, and quality coaching. If I were advising her, I would urge her to stay. |
