Did you hear Kim's presser where unsolicitedly she suggested there shouldn't be Covid testing in the final four for women and men. Because wouldn't it be a shame if a player or players were eliminated if they were tested positive?
Sure it would be a shame if someone didn't play. And it would also be a shame if a player were positive and played and spread Covid to, oh, I dunno, say maybe a 67 year old coach like Tara, who heroically kept her team in a bubble for 63 days this season.
What hypocrisy it would be to go to all the trouble all season and then in this tournament bubble, and then say that in the final four it doesn't matter anymore.
Poor Kim: a great, great coach. Not so great on public speaking.

Not so great on public speaking. The same Kim Mulkey who gave the middle finger to Covid and had a family get together for Christmas while the UConn players were stuck on campus for the holidays?? Then Mulkey caught Covid, our nationally televised game was canceled and both teams' schedules disrupted? A good coach...a good recruiter; but an idiot at times?

Poor Mulkey sometimes forgets to take her Immodium to prevent diarrhea of the mouth before stepping in front of a microphone. Just a slow learner.

I'm going to cut Kim a little slack here. A little. Keep in mind if she had won, it would be self-serving - we don't want our team to be excluded because of a test. By saying it after a loss, she is essentially saying she doesn't want UConn to miss the FF.
That said, wrong moment, wrong stage, and I disagree with the content, but in the heat one of one of the more intense moments in her life, I can partially write it off as frustration at this damned Covid which has wreaked so much havoc.

Alysa also said that late play was a foul, so maybe she was getting some flack for that.

I was reading her twitter feed. She did say it was a foul, and linked also to LeBron James who said the same.
But she then linked to Renee Montgomery who said: 1. never play to expect the refs to help you out; and 2. refs often don't want to make a call that decides the game. And she seemed to approve of that, IIRC.

No argument from me on the deletion, radylady. I've thought back to all the things she's said: how she was so unsympathetic to Brittney Griner's sexuality; how she urged fans to punch anyone in the face who criticized Baylor about campus rape, how she was suspended for a game for sounding off at a presser about the refs.

Admittedly, this is kind of mean-spirited. But while Kim was going on with the reporter about "What did you see? Write it that way" she was having a mighty battle with her mask. And as I rewatched it today, I went into an uncontrollable fit of giggles. She could not get that darned mask to sit straight. She was angry at the no call and was fighting with the mask at the same time. I kept expecting her to just yank it off and throw it - which she has a history of doing with other garments. I also was thinking - no one is near her. Why is she wearing a mask at the microphone? I have not seen any other coach wear it at the post game presser, though I have not seen them all. It just seemed so odd. And yet, she also talked about doing away with the COVID testing for the remainder of the tourney. Just a weird dichotomy.

And yet; the beauty of her legendary jacket tosses are without equal and worth the price of admission alone!!! !!!! Like a famous bull fighter wherein she gets the officials' attention away from her team's fouls........

I try to ignore everything Alysa Auriemma says. And I agree with everything Alysa says. She was raised by good parents! That may be, but my son played baseball with Michael Auriemma. Yes, they were young. But my son had no use for Michael. They were on the same team as 13/14 year olds. Michael was, of course, a starter. My son sat the bench mostly. Michael would frequently tear down the less talented players on his own team. It never bothered my son, because he thought Michael was just full of himself. My son is 32 year old now. If I ever mention Michael Auriemma's name, his response is always "he's a jerk". Somethings are never forgotten.

Interesting. Kids, of course. But your son is lucky he didn't play CYO basketball with him. The Auriemmas use to include Aaron Hernandez in that carpool.
one thing led to another and I eventually got to Michael's twitter account. The only thing he posted on the game last night (or the only thing that remains of it) is the same Renee Montgomery tweet, which is:
Things I was taught
Never let it be close enough that the refs can decide the outcome
The refs tend to swallow the whistle at the end, which is why the put back is the game winner most times
Don’t focus on the last couple plays of the game, but the plays that lead up to it✍🏾
