This could easily have been a FF game. Ridiculous, really. And of course WE are one seed that has to win two FF's to advance to the final.

Just the breaks. Sometimes it's an easy path; sometimes a hard one. If we don't win this one, we don't deserve to play the next one anyway.

I don't think this is logical actually. We were the no. 2 1, and we should have gotten the lowest 2. That is how really it is supposed to work, logically speaking. And geog. is not a factor.

This will definitely be a test of the maturity of our freshmen and sophomores because this is the soph's first tournament experience as well. Particularly AE, Paige and AG. Can they play with poise and confidence and under control in the biggest game of the year so far? Or will the bright lights of the big stage be intimidating? They have played with great poise so far. I don't expect that to change.
Foul trouble could really limit what UConn can do. Baylor is a very physical team. As long as the refs call it fairly, and call it consistently both ways it is all good.
Liv, Christyn and especially Evina will provide a calming influence.
It is going to be a battle, and it is a shame this battle has to happen in an Elite Eight matchup. NC State should NOT have been a #1 seed, Baylor should have been the #1 in their place in my opinion. This is another one of the head scratching decisions by the committee. And it is hard not to buy into a conspiracy theory that they made UConn's path the toughest region.
Be that as it may...you have to beat the best to be the best. I still am feeling very calm. Likely to change as game time approaches, but for now?
5 hours before game time: "Chappy's Pulsometer" sitting pretty at 64.

If Paige does not play with poise I will come to your house and eat your livingroom sofa. Have a couple of gallons of Chardonay handy in that event.

"should have been" Tenn, Iowa, Baylor, A&M, Stanford ... that's the toughest line by a considerable margin. But, Semi's actually have gotten "easier", so if you think of this as our FF game and that as our E-Eight, it works out fairly well balanced. Need to win this one for that to come to pass, though.

I hesitate to argue logic with a Medievalist ( ). But I don't see logic involved here. Baylor was identified as the 7th best team at the time of the seeding. We may dispute that, but it's not illogical. No one said: Baylor is actually a #1 seed, so it's logical to assign them a #2 under UConn. If Baylor had been bumped down one spot to #8, they'd be heading for Stanford, and not a soul on this website would utter a peep. Play the game!
