The highlight of this game should be Paige smacking Coach on the butt after Anna's three! Hysterical. This team just loves their coach(es) and each other. So special.

Those highlights of Christyn. Shows her super quick. She's suddenly really playing the game she played in HS. Just dominating. First half of the season I was sorely disappointed in her, but she has reached deep down and found her mojo again. |

The two smartest coaching moves of the season, inserting Nika into the starting lineup and making CW into the defensive stopper, which forced her to stop thinking about offense, which let her relax, which led to her regaining her confidence, which led to her unleashing her offensive firepower. Nobody is playing better than her right now, at least not on this planet.

So, there is an upside to Paige not playing like Paige. Evina shot well. Christyn shot well. Aaliyah is a monster under the basket and can score through contact. We know Liv can score too, and rebounds well. And Paige didn't have to do it this game, but has the potential to take over the game.
So either Baylor or Michigan is going to have to figure out who to defend. You can't guard them all.
And then...if Nika is able to play. Now what the heck to they do?

But I remember in 2013 when Baylor with Brittney was probably the best team in the country and that truly horrible charging call when playing Louisville in the Sweet 16 knocked them out. UConn, with the big 3 as freshmen, eventually destroyed Louisville for the national championship. That was a bit of a gift for UConn. Stuff happens. |

That decision about getting Christyn to focus on defense--whether it was Geno, CD, all the coaches, whatever--not only has made UConn immensely better, but has changed Christyn's life. She's realizing her enormous potential and will easily be a first round draft choice. |

Even though Liv didn't score well I really like her out there on the floor. She guards the other teams big well, gets on the boards, and most of all is a calming presence. She doesn't get frantic when she has the ball. AE, as good as she is, only has one speed and can get out of whack quickly.

Tenn had only to beat Louisville, who were set up for a bounce after that miracle win, but Tenn lost their opportunity to get to a final four. N Dame got a gift too and was in the position of only needing to beat UConn who they had already beaten 3 times and then beat Louisville for their 1st title in a dozen years.  |

I have an awful feeling CW will follow Megan Walker and leave early especially if she had a big tourney run.
