I think Q's interview is really interesting. His "plan" worked for the first quarter. They didn't want us to run, and when we did it was essentially over. Teams are going to want to stop us from employing our running game. So how to do that will be something people are thinking about.

High Point and I believe Marquette both conceded defensive rebounds for much of their games against UCONN. HP in particular, as soon as the shot from outside went up they all retreated, no one was even in the picture to rebound a miss. Iowa won't be doing that.

Looking forward to Doggy's report on what to expect from Iowa. I've been reading all the stories about what to expect. Two great guards are going toe to toe, but everyone seems to think that we have the better team, so it's going to be about that probably. Hope so!!!

Paige's performance in this presser shows how basketball wise she is. She answers like a mature coach. Very impressive.

IMO, Iowa is in for a big surprise. Clark IS their offense. Their big girl Monika is good under the basket. But Clark does not make her team better, like Paige does, or share the ball, like Paige does. She is a one-person show. I'd put Nika on her and Aaliyah on Monika, then let the rest of the team and Paige go nuts. (you'd think I drove by the Holiday Inn Express on my way to work...LOL)

And I am not sure she has played against a defense quite like UConn. Last night the defense was STIFLING! If UConn contains Clark, both in limiting her touches as well as defending every shot she takes, I don't know where they will get their points.

I think they'll put Christyn on Caitlin. Christyn has the size and quickness, and has shown herself an excellent 1 on 1 defender.

If Nika is able to play, she may be a little limited in her lateral movements. That would put a lot of strain on the ankle. I just hope she plays. We need all players from here on out, and we need them to stay healthy and injury free.

Talk about a challenge in coming back to work!

Teams are going to want to stop us from employing our running game. So how to do that will be something people are thinking about. People have probably commented on this before, but it seems to me that almost every time Aubrey comes in, the pace of play really picks up. She has her weaknesses -- bad hands (in terms of grasping the ball securely) and occasionally anti-positional defense - but her attacking defense almost always draws the opponents out of a slow-the-game-down approach. She concedes neither time nor space, and really amps up the pressure on the opposing team's ball-handlers. A moment of indecision and the ballhandler is trapped; a slightly careless dribble or pass, and the ball -- and Aubrey -- are well on their way to a turnover score.l

Her zeal for rebounding ... Especially on the offensive end ... is also worthy of praise
