An odd result. I only watch the last few minutes, but it was clear that Ole Miss was not a top-level team. They had a breakaway layup that they missed, they got called for steps, and made other areas that, yes, even UConn makes on occasion but not that many blunders in a couple minutes. I didn't see it but Ole Miss one on a 17 nothing run starting late in the second quarter and continuing into the third, and I think they nailed every one of their free throws in the final quarter to hold on for the win.
The other reason this is an odd result is that Kentucky had something to play for. Sometimes, when there is nothing to play for it's hard to get a team motivated, but I believe a win would have given them a double bye, and the loss might drop them to fifth in the conference and only a single bye.
