You listen to this and you be the judge. I think it's still rattling around in her head.

No, something is rattling around in YOUR head. She sounds like she has it together! And loves how the TEAM is doing.

She will be fine if she focuses on defense first, if she can do that everything else will work out. And, we'll be on our way.

What a difference it makes when she is out of her slump. There is something about defense. You can grind it out play after play without the intense moment of attention on you when you shoot the ball. It is a whole other mind set, and takes great concentration too, of course. And everytime you work well on their side, and points are not made by them thanks to your efforts, confidence builds, without it being constantly about you. So the head clears and then you go down and try your own shot, without over thinking so much. And bingo...

The concentration on D approach is a Geno head trick to assist CW in the recovery of her natural ability Remember, she was a #1 out of HS even if (fairly) recent play makes that hard to believe. And if she now is regularly assigned to negate the other team's leading scorer, that is a mighty contribution.
Among her athletic talents (including wide receiver) has always been the possibility of her becoming a fine defensive player if she put her mind to it and Geno has focused her on that (previously) unrefined aspect of her game.
And, voila, as her D has become stifling and praiseworthy, her offense followed along; permitting Geno to compliment her for the totality of her pervious game's efforts; which she very much appreciated.
I'm not saying relapses are impossible, but CW sure looks like she is becoming a trustworthy and darned useful piece of Geno's complicated pie.
