can someone remind me as to why Paige is a Snowy Owl? I'm a birder, and an owl fan, so I'm a tad perplexed as to why I don't recall the connection

FYI - Snowys are migratory in severe winters, and only make it down to CT and NYC sporadically. If present, they'll head back north to the Canadian tundra shortly. Ya might want to consider a more resident owl that will still be here in, say, late March or April. The Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl, Long-eared Owl, or Eastern Screech would be good candidates. Out here in the Southwest, we've got Burrowing Owls, which are cute as a button, but, not southern New England appropriate either...
