It's no secret that I'm a fan of the Massey ratings. UConn moved up to number one with the wind last night, with Stanford in second and South Carolina in third. Stanford and South Carolina separated by only 0.03 [typo corrected] so essentially tied. Interestingly, Louisville is at number eight. we'll see if the coaches pay attention when they vote today.

Prior to last nights game they had predicted UConn a 4 point winner: 72 - 68 ! UConn just kept the score a bit lower!

I really like Massey too. If I remember right, the first time I check their prediction for the game last week they had SC winning 71-70. After Marquette it swung over to the Huskies and stayed there.

Interesting, I missed that. Make some sense though, we were expected to be Marquette but not by that much so the large margin of victory increased our strength. I'm a little surprised that seems to be worth five points, that's a lot, but I'm sure that's what happened.

Having a 4 loss Oregon team at #5 and NC State at #12 doesn't seem right, however.

Yes; as the game got closer, the spread moved from 1 to 4 maybe because UConn beat the spread by so much @ Marquette?!!

From my memory; I believe Massey had us / UConn favored by 14 or 16 points over Marquette, but UConn won by a score of 87-58 nearly doubling the Massey prediction. After that game the expected point win over South Carolina went up on Massey!
