Just enjoy the game. Don't look to take apart players who didn't perform like you would like. Don't worry about anything about this game. It was just a slug-fest between two really tough teams. And UConn came out on top. That's it.
+1 to the millionth power, DD!

Many, many thanks for having the strength and stamina to post after watching that incredibly draining slugfest. DD and David, you are the best. UConn!!

Object lesson. This is why you only play with 7 or 8 players in a big game. TEAMWORK counts way more, WAY more, than keeping players fresh. If a team's players are getting too tired to perform than your practices are too soft. Side note, I think E's knee or knees are really bothering her. I hope rest will make them feel better cause we're going to need her and all she brings. Ps Thanks DD.

In the presser, Geno focused on her having a tough defensive assignment, but hinted about her knee. Perhaps Geno doesn't want to make much of the knee because Evina is likely to be evaluated for the WNBA draft. Realistically, UConn doesn't play a challenging game until the Sweet Sixteen at the end of March. I really think they need to consider giving her more rest.

But wants a description before she can watch ... even a replay when she knows the outcome. She asked about E, and the summary was this. She played well, but this wasn't her best game. No scoring, a step slower than usual ... etc. However, the other note is that the freshmen simply play better when she is on the floor. Even when things go wrong, she makes them believe. "Those troubles are unlucky one-time things. We're really about to show them what we really can do." This boost may be her most important contribution of the season, and they are now starting to give that to each other as well. That comes from E ... and lately Paige, too. That's real leadership. It isn't coming from the juniors. That's not a knock on them, just an observation. That's something you can't just "try harder" to create. On the great four consecutive NCs crew, it was Morgan and Mo most of that time. Stewie got there her senior season, and they were unstoppable. At Seattle, it is Sue. That's why they miss her so much when she's off the floor. Diana's final two seasons at UCONN and all of her time in the W oozed that same vibe. Look at BG's stats with D and without - Night and Day. It is what made Sabrina and Oregon so fantastic last season

It is what made Sabrina and Oregon so fantastic last season Great post, swash. Tom Brady is no longer a truly great QB, but he is an amazing leader, in games and practice. He makes everyone focus on a single goal. That's what a great leader does, in every walk of life. Geno used to wonder what Stewie was thinking. Turns out, she was repressing a lot, until the Me Too movement, when she revealed the horrors of her childhood. And now she's far more outspoken and obviously happier. But at UConn, as you say, it wasn't until her senior year that she really led. Never a problem for D, of course. And Paige, we've heard, is starting to lead in practice. Evina might very well be that person who modeled this for her, even if Evina is a lot quieter and less demonstrative.
