every game is in San Antonio
"The NCAA has put together a number of protocols, incl. 7 negatives prior to departure to SA, private charter travel, weekly tests upon arrival, and players will be kept in their own pods, w/ 0 allowance for interaction."
The women's NCAA basketball tournament will be held on six courts at five venues in the San Antonio region from March 21 to April 4, it was announced Friday. The Alamodome will host the Women's Final Four, Elite Eight and Sweet 16. Very intense. Little time to recover from an injury, and any positive test may well eliminate the entire team.
First round March 21, 22: Alamodome (San Antonio), Bill Greehey Arena (San Antonio), Frank Erwin Center (Austin, Texas), Strahan Arena (San Marcos, Texas), UTSA Convocation Center (San Antonio)
Second round March 23, 24: Alamodome (San Antonio), Bill Greehey Arena (San Antonio), UTSA Convocation Center (San Antonio)
Sweet 16 March 27, 28: Alamodome (San Antonio)
Elite Eight March 29, 30: Alamodome (San Antonio)
Final Four April 2, 4: Alamodome (San Antonio)

Private charter may be a tough expense for some schools, especially now.
And it's certainly no guarantee. Two stewardesses later tested positive on a player charter for the Australian Tennis Open, causing all kinds of problems.

I read this and got halfway through the first line and thought ... They're going to South Africa?!? isn't that the source location of the most virulent new strain of COVID-19?!?!?! Why would they do that, given the extra expense and risk and ... wait. that can't be right... Then I took a deep breath and kept reading ... Whew!

The shorter break between rounds 2/3 and 4/5 will have an effect, especially between the E8 and FF semi. They have always had a 5 day gap which gave coaches a long time to both rest and prepare their teams. I've wondered whether that had something to do with UConn's many losses in the semi while never losing in the final.
