Geno is right to be concerned about the slow starts. We aren't so mature a team that we can afford to spot the opposition a quarter's lead while we decide how hard we need to play them. It will bite us in the butt, for sure.

It will bite us in the butt, for sure. It is a fair concern, but I like to think of it this way. The play when they are really ON is so good that they have time to fix this problem. Think of the season as a compendium of the games. Start slow, then really ramp up. This team can play with any team in the country. Now the challenge is to play at that level consistently. That is a much better problem than we had last year when we couldn't seem to play better than a B- game for the most of the season. Then the team (aligned with Anna and Liv stepping up big time) finally was really getting going, but the good measuring stick teams had already come and gone. We eagerly anticipated the tourney to see whether it was real enough to be (or to beat) the big dogs. Alas, that was not to be.
