I own a pair of the Stewie shoe, I confess. Wear em every day.

I would have been nice if she endorsed Moolah kicks. Young shoe company started by a young female with basketball shoe designed just for women.

But would she make the moolah?

But would she make the moolah? ... and did they have the moolah to offer?

But would she make the moolah? Did you see the movie “Air” and what Jordan did for Nike?

Here's hoping Clark survives her welcome to the WNBA. Players like Taurasi should be welcoming Clark because she could bring more recognition (money) to the league. Instead you get the "reality is coming" crap.

I love it D!! No free participation trophies. D has been the same D for years, why would anyone expect her to change. The game doesn’t need a welcoming commitee crap!

Instead you get the "reality is coming" crap. I heard the original statements and the headlines/stories from them. The media made all of that up out of thin air. And they all did it, as if centrally coordinated. Rebecca talked for several minutes about the things that will transition easily for Clark and the areas that will be more challenging. Diana answered several questions about the benefits of someone with CCs range. The interviewer pressed ... but will she dominate in the WNBA like she has in college? ...It’s probably going to be an adjustment for her ... was the harshest thing DT said.

Selling things as hate generates clicks and that is the unfortunate reality behind this stuff. Virtually any time a player or analyst comes out and does any less than praise Clark than they are deemed a hater..

I kinda trip on the fact the common folk have a problem with the opinions of players who have actually played the game at many levels.

I read that on her first day as a pro Clark sold more jerseys than did the entire Dallas Cowboy team last year.

Instead you get the "reality is coming" crap. The WNBA is one big pile of women who are mad at pretty much everything. They also subscribe to pretty much everything labeled Woke. So they must try to make Caitlin as miserable as them. It will get worse as the word of her 8 figure shoe contract spreads.

I'd be hoping she gets a 9 digit deal. Clark is raising the bar for everyone.

I don't expect many object.
I didn't read / hear the piece, but as described above Rebecca has it right - there will be parts of Clark's game that will translate well and others not-so-much. There will be things whereby she will be successful from the get-go and others that she will struggle in.
I suspect there are some folks (fans) who naively expect to see on the pro level what they saw on college. I don't expect that. On the other hand, there are those who are secretly hoping she gets some come-upance handed to her. That is not likely to be the case either.
I have a very simple opinion - do I think a team is better with or without her. I don't think the answer is difficult.

My issue is more that they are expected to use kid gloves when talking about her. Apparently saying that entering the WNBA is a reality check is akin to an attack or hating on someone. I just don't think it is. I also don't think players should feel obligated to treat her like she is anything, but another rookie entering the league.

Any blow back is their doing, with the aggrandizing of this player. Most of us can only take so much fawning before it makes us (me) ill. I am a message board poster. Bwahahaha

WNBA owners and management must be over the moon about the media coverage that Clark has generated. The W is usually ignored by sports commentators and blogs and now Clark is getting tons of attention and that is generating interest in the league.
I doubt that will be sustained. After all it is the WNBA.

After all it is the WNBA. Honestly, it doesn't even need to sustain at this level. If they can retain even 20% of the influx of viewers that could go a long way. Anything more than that would just be a bonus.
