So, what's the concensus ? I personally like big guards . Guards who are 6 Ft. and can still move quickly. I'm thinking there is also a strong argument for the small very quick guard. I'm think the average is 5' 10. In the men's game I like guards that are in the 6'4 range and up. Curious as to what others think.

Both is better. Ball skills, passing ability, shooting eye, tenacity, creativity, intelligence, strength, motivation, personality, leadership, .... This is but a start for a list that is long indeed. It is the cumulative suite that defines interest and success. True for all players, regardless of position.

Big guards tend to offer more versatility (think Paige's ability to move all over the floor). Smaller guards tend to have to become really good in some areas with some weaknesses in others.

as someone who is vertically challenged, I love to see the smaller guards. You can't teach height, nor can you teach desire. I'll take the latter in a smaller package over the former any day of the week.
In my most humble (!?) opinion!

Also vertically challenged and in agreement with you - just adding fast and sneaky to the mix! (Mo Jeff, Crystal D, Renee...)

I don't mind smaller guards, but there can be situational challenges in college and it is tougher to move on to the pros for even successful players on the shorter end of the spectrum. Still, no issue specifically, but think the ideal guard in today's game needs to be in the area of 6'. Maybe a couple inches shorter max.

To me Paige is perfect. But, them I look at the a smaller guard like Hidalgo and compare to say JuJu. I like the JuJU size on both ends of the court.

I like em Steph Curry size To add to that response, it’s more about skill level than size.
