Over the last 3 weeks or so Lara Somfai (class of 2025) has followed Jana, Morgan Cheli, Azzi, Aubrey, Aaliyah Edwards, Dorka Juhasz, Ashlynn, and Allie Ziebell on Instagram (she already followed Qadence, Paige, and Nika). She is also a teammate of UConn commit class of 25' Kelis Fisher.

There is a video floating around out there where she is wearing a UConn shirt/jersey while playing in a game. She looks about 9-12 years old. I’m pretty sure she committed to UConn back then.

Somfai is a Hungarian name. Maybe some of our internationals can help with this one.

No one else leaves, Lara would make 14 on the roster including Kelis and Gandy. Who should the 15th be? Leah Macy? Another guard?

She's Australian. I'm often leery of possible Australian recruits, since it's so far a trip to Storrs, but she's been living in the States and going to IMG. She's committed to a pro career starting with the WNBA. And we know who produces WNBA-ready players!

Good point … but it worked out for Svet, Nika & Jana (and sadly not so well for EDD who wasn’t that far but it was too far). Ya never know … Fingers & paws crossed in my household that it does!!

Most Aussies stay on the Pacific side so that made me optimistic. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but it seems as if in the past Geno ran out of players he wanted way before he ran out of scholarships. Nowadays it's the Nordic Lodge buffet.

She, Sarah, and Jana out there together would be...AMAZING!!! [BTY, although she's righthanded, she effectively plays ambidextrously: kind of unstoppable]

[BTY, although she's righthanded, she effectively plays ambidextrously: kind of unstoppable] It amazes me how many D1 players can't go both right and left. When I coached my kid I made sure he could go either way from a very young age. When he was in 6th grade, an opposing coach yelled out to his team to force my kid right because he thought he was left handed. My kid (right handed) laughed and drove right to the basket. Then they triple teamed him in the back court, which was not allowed at that level. I gestured to the other coach who just said, what do you want from me.
