Can't imagine how they have Texas ahead of UConn. Only thing I can think of is they are considering the loss of Nika and Aaliyah as a big hit to them next year. With players coming back and the addition of Strong (overall good freshman class in general) I don't see them missing a beat.

Texas was great this year even with the loss of their best player Rori Harmon. She will be back and they have an excellent class. I think UConn is better but it's not outrageous to have them ahead of the Huskies. I also think they play against next year. This time in Storrs? I could be wrong.

In the whole pantheon of meaningless things that will pop up on your internet feed today, this poll may be the most meaningless.

All these Way too early rankings are just click bait. It is based on THIS MOMENT IN TIME The Portal, coaching changes and off season injuries (hopefully not, but as we all too well know they happen - hoping not to UConn this year) will impact every ranking.
It is message board fodder. I guess it gives us something to discuss in the off season.

With players coming back and the addition of Strong (overall good freshman class in general) I don't see them missing a beat. You don't understand that there is a double standard. Injured UConn players are all huge question marks when they return to play while Harmon, Miles et all are assumed to be 100% with no question about any loss of quality. Same with freshmen. Texas has the nos. 7 & 8 recruits and are "ready to contribute" while it's questionable if Strong can adjust to college. The other 2 UConn freshmen, Naismith finalist Cheli and No 4 Ziebell are not even considered as possible contributors. (At least in Creme's mind). It's like this every year. Someone named Pollyanna writes all but one of the D1 wcbb previews while UConn's preview is written by a guy named Joe Btfsplk. Actually I prefer Joe and just wish he would write all of the previews.

In the whole pantheon of meaningless things that will pop up on your internet feed today, this poll may be the most meaningless. It wasn't even a poll. It was an "analysis" by a single sportswriter that was so dreary and uninsightful (even if it was rational in its rankings) that it wasn't worth adding text.

Well, geeze, I'm sorry I posted it. There isn't much around ya know...? Sorry. Didn't mean my comment to sound like it does (now that I read it). It's actually similar to another ranking I saw. But it's kind a seat-of-the-pants thing. Nothing that identifies strengths and challenges, or contingencies. Sounded as if it could have been written by AI. But the actual ranking is probably similar to what polls will produce as well.
