I'd grab her in a heartbeat. 2 years of a 6'3" very, very good rebounder and efficient scorer. But I'd bet she'll want to go where she gets the majority of competitive minutes, which is isn't easy to see at UConn. I think UCLA, Stanford or USC would all be good fits for him her (or them?). I do not think I was to harsh above, I was holding back !!! I did not personally attack her, to the contrary I wished her the best. If you had a chance to say this to her face would you expect her to thank you for wishing her the best?

This is completely unnecessary. And cruel. Do better. No it’s not. How many spots are there on the UConn team? 15 max? How many girls coming out of HS aspire to have one of those seats? They would crawl to Geno! True I’m not at practice but I see with my eyes that there’s very little desire there to get better. I see little to no passion and zero improvement. It was a complete on court disaster. I do not think I was to harsh above, I was holding back !!! I did not personally attack her, to the contrary I wished her the best. Sorry I can’t say I love everything and everyone like some of u guys can do. That’s not reality. Join us in the real world for a bit. Oh please....we are all in reality. But your comment was just crap. Good, Your glad. Who cares.

ok I have a question. What happens if someone enters the portal, but no one wants them? This is a serious question.

You could have just left it at wishing her the best. The jab about taking a coveted spot was unnecessary, in my opinion. But I respect your right to express your opinion. Just wish it had not been you had left it off.

ok I have a question. What happens if someone enters the portal, but no one wants them? This is a serious question. From the interwebs: According to the NCAA, once a student-athlete enters the transfer portal, their current institution has the ability to cancel or reduce their scholarship for the upcoming academic year. This means that a student-athlete may indeed lose their scholarship if they decide to enter the transfer portal. In a case where a player enters the transfer portal and doesn't find a new school there, he or she can decide to transfer elsewhere as a scholarship player or as a walk-on. The player is free to withdraw from the portal at any time. Or he/she can choose to enter the transfer portal some other time. So it may be premature to assume that there are two scholarships available. If they don’t get picked up, Geno could decide to continue their scholarships.

dont know thats why I asked. Does their university have to take them back and continue their scholarship, or is that the end of it. Seriously you don't have to know to have an opinion. Do you think they have to take them back? To seriously answer the question, when a player enters the portal, there is no longer any obligation for the prior school. Scholarships are essentially renewed annually. Most schools continue the scholarship to a returning player until their four years of eligibility are exhausted. But if a player declares they want to leave and enters the portal, they essentially give up their scholarship. The school they are leaving has the choice of using the scholarship on another player or leave it unused. But if the departing player doesn't find a home, the prior school is under NO obligation to give the scholarship back. They can take them back and use a scholarship if available, let them come back as a walk-on and let them pay their own way, or say no thanks, we are moving on - even if there is an available scholarship. I do believe Geno and staff have had open and frank discussions with all the players to wrap up the season. Geno speaks truth to his players, even it it is painful for them to hear. I can never see Geno saying to a player (absent a behavioral, academic or chemistry issue that can't be resolved) "we don't want you back". Geno lays out what things look like for each player in the coming year and lets them make their own decision.

It was.

Geno would have to hold that scholarship open for that to happen. Based on his comments about the players leaving (good luck in the future) my guess is he cancelled their scholarships. And what player would want to come back after wanting to leave? It's a silly scenario.

When posting, I live by the rule that if I wouldn't say something to a player if they were standing right in front of me, then I don't write it in a post. How do we know they are not reading this?
