color me "shocked" that Nika only had one (1!) assist. arrgghh 5 turnovers?? She was a bit indecisive at the top of the key, meaning that when she did distribute the ball, the defense had reset. To my mind, that was the disappointing thing about this team offensively. They don't pass crisply; they don't look for the skip pass. They need to do that against a zone. Evina got the assists that the point guard should have had, but they needed to get her more looks as she's the most consistent shooter out there, when Paige is on the bench.

That was a decent game defensively, especially with two mainstays out. The offense suffered for sure, but on a terrible outing and down your PG and another key rotational player, they still scored 72. That'll win you most WCBB games, and nearly any SEC game (although I have to admit they're getting better).

Their insistence on standing around on the perimeter playing hot potato with the ball, hoping the middle would open up, made them look very ordinary.

The bad news is that they had to press and trap most of the 1st half to generate offense against the worst team in the BE.

I think they used it to generate energy, rather than points, for their offense and, because they are far more athletic than G-town, they could slow down G-town's offense.

I will listen to the presser tomorrow. Don't have the psychological fortitude tonight...

So we can't call them the worst.
