Bright spots:
- Aaliyah played fairly well. Did what we'd want inside - refused to get pushed around. made the shots inside. battled. Good stuff to build upon
- Paige played well in this game. I know the talk will be missing a million shots, and she'll have to work on that, but strong defense, rebounding, assists ... that's a lot to like. Then, after all the questions about whether this was too big a stage for her ... when it would've been easy to fold ... she picked it up another notch in the fourth like the great ones seem to do. Then the injury and the return, and fighting through obvious pain. Then ... the one-legged shot that sealed the deal
- Aubrey like always, gets into the middle of the action and makes things happen
- Evina in a game compounded by a huge pile of emotions, not only played well, but delivered leadership and composure to this team when they needed it
- Christyn. Deciding if we're going down, it isn't going to be for lack of hustle. This was her best game as a husky bar none
- Liv broke through a mental barrier she could not last season when facing stiff opposition. She got better and better late - even if she didn't bend her knees for any of those foul shots
- When the chips were down, they stepped up. When there was a string of four or five consecutive calls we might question, they rose to the occasion. When Tennessee gave them their best shot in the proverbial mouth, they shook it off and held strong. This game will serve as a milestone when we look back on the season.
- Watch out, Arkansas. you're going to get a different UCONN team than you'll see on the film
Great analysis, swash. But not sure "bar none." Remember when she won the Notre Dame game her freshman year?

Great analysis, swash. But not sure "bar none." Remember when she won the Notre Dame game her freshman year? I do. That one was a fine game, no doubt. One to look back upon with pride, but her role was the runner. Leave early after every shot and force them to get back. ND had decided the best way to win was to crash the O boards, and her job was to make them pay. Not much defense Most of her points were bunnies or wide open shots earned by someone else The D was geared to stop Lou and Phee. They were worried about Liv, too. Christyn was an afterthought ... and they didn't adjust for forever (thanks, Muffet) We liked it because it was a shock and her first material contribution The media liked it because it was a lot of points for a frosh Geno has labeled at least a few games since "better" in his mind, and I agree. Freshman Williams would have been quiet this game. The Junior version, roared.

Although Rebecca was one of the announcers in that game and I remember her saying, "tonight, the best player on the floor is a freshman." She did a lot more than act as the runner.

Rae Burrell scored only 4 points in the second half after seeming to be unstoppable in the first half. Clearly Geno listened to me and had the team deny her the ball in the second half. You're welcome, Geno. I think I need a new moniker. Something that uses "Jumper", maybe? Okay, just almost choked on my coffee I was laughing so hard. Good one, Chappie!

The Tennessee Team Defense is among the top free throw jinxers in the entire nation!! Perhaps that's why the officials neglected to call so many Tennessee fouls?? They felt sorry for our stat line!!

You're not suggesting an announcer ... Even our Rebecca... might have succumbed to hyperbole, right? Because I would be shocked. Shocked, to hear that. cannot add the Casablanca clip here, but you're familiar.
