Tony's 195-0 prediction was a lot closer than just about anyone else predicted on the record. Off EDD stayed it was a good prediction. LOL, closer than almost anyone else's. Only TonyC is literally perfect. Nowadays;).

Tony's 195-0 prediction was a lot closer than just about anyone else predicted on the record. Off EDD stayed it was a good prediction. LOL, closer than almost anyone else's. Only TonyC is literally perfect. Nowadays;). We'll let's take a look at this. If I remember correctly it was predicated on EDD coming to UCONN. UCONN's record during what would have been the EDD era was 147-7. Actually not sure how Tony got to 195-0, because UCONN only played (would have played if undefeated) 39 games a year. So best case scenerio, would have been 156-0. If you count the year prior to EDD's arrival then you could have gotten to 195-0. However, UCONN lost in the FF that year and Tony's prediction was already blown out of the water BEFORE EDD even arrived. I guess if you go ahead and back date it to the season before, you get 183-9. I imagine a lot of people would have predicted 1-2 loss seasons through the 5 of them which is much closer to the actual 183-9 than 195-0. Because like I said when I called out Tony on this years ago (and took a lot of flack for it), you can never tell about injuries, transfers, freak games (see Stanford this year), or what other teams are gonna do. I believe I called it a "silly" prediction then, and I'd say it again if someone else predicts 5 undefeated seasons in the future. BUT, that would have been some hell of teams if she'd of stayed. (again assuming her being here wouldn't have affected future recruits, which it probably would have). 2008-2009 - Montgomery, Charles, Greene, Moore, Hayes, EDD 2009-2010 - Charles, Greene, Moore, Hayes, Doty, EDD, Faris 2010-2011 - Moore, Hayes, EDD, Faris, Hartley, Dolson 2011-2012 - Hayes, EDD, Faris, Hartley, Dolson, KML

Implicit in every prediction is that the world will still be standing. Tony took a lot of crap too. People who speak up usually do. . (Unless the prediction is that the world will not be standing;). I call it The Airplane Crash Rule. I love the guy:). My posts are rarely literal. Funtown is nice. Good call on that record.

But look at what it did to the mojo. The plane crashed when EDD disembarked to Delaware.

But seriously can you imagine what these two teams would have been like:
2008-2009 - Montgomery, Charles, Greene, Moore, Hayes, EDD 2009-2010 - Charles, Greene, Moore, Hayes, Doty, EDD, Faris
No wonder Pat went over the edge with those attempts to stop our recruiting. Those two teams..oh man. Well, we will enjoy the dream and be very very grateful for what we had/have!

Implicit in every prediction is that the world will still be standing. IDK, some people (and not just on here or the BY) consider their player will improve each season (or season to season) while other teams don't. Or their player coming back from surgery will be as good as before, but other teams players coming back from surgery aren't really sure of what they will get. Or home court advantage works really great for them, but only so-so for other teams. Etc. etc. etc. Everybody loves Tony. Yes, it is. So is reality world.

Meyers, the one or two days she stayed they were the greatest team ever. No players stay forever Eh, still liked the 2000-2001 better (before injuries), but true, they don't stay forever. (nor do they go 195-0 )

My issue with the 195-0 talk was never Tony. He really believed it and I don't see anything wrong with such optimism.
My issue was never the posters that disagreed with him, like Meyers, who was always respectful with his debate in this.
My issue was with the many posters on Area 51, ESPN board, Rebkell, Collegfansonly and other WCBB message boards that used that 195-0 to insult Tony over and over and over again.
He didn't and still doesn't deserve that crap.

When you talk about players coming back from surgery being as good as before, my mind jumps immediately to Morgan, who's come back even better than before. I think that's because her injury was chronic, not acute, and she played with it enough for it to affect her play. Now that she's better, she's playing like the Morgan in the NC her freshman year.

I agree with everything but that she is playing like her freshman year. Health wise, yes, but skill wise? She is playing like a Junior.

She is playing like a junior except in her release. She doesn't yet have the smooth, soft, deadly touch she was developing before her injury. She was projected to be a very consistent shooter. I am sure it is coming so expect her to shoot tens of thousands of 2 footers and twenty footers this summer. That finger tip release will be Morgan's and AA is hers. Geno describes her clearly: 'Morgan does everything real well:))'. He loves that Huskie.
