Auriemma said there are several top recruits that he doesn’t even look at because he thinks they play selfishly:
“That’s why we lead the nation in assists,” he said. “I’m looking for great teammates. Anyone who wants to just play 35 minutes doesn’t get a call.”
I must confess I have a hard time reconciling this philosophy with his pursuit of DD. Perhaps he thought he could 'mold' her.
