Thanks, Chappy. I once wasted a bit of time looking into ways of uploading jpegs that appeared bigger here, but apparently the software we're using on this site makes it very difficult to do. ...and no method I can see for pasting an image from the clipboard... At the risk of extending the geek-fest ... If anyone has instructions or ideas, please share.

SO, I went in to the office for under an hour to pick up stuff to work more efficiently remotely. Was only there 15 minutes and got a call from MY GM ( a very nice person) telling me, in no uncertain terms, per the CT Gov - go home. So I did. Evidently my bosses will scan me anything new I need. (I live in hope...!)
On way home noticed something....not much traffic, but holy moley, plenty of road rage. Why, I have no idea. Traffic on the highway was at least 5-10 over the limit. May get used to this remote working quicker than I had anticipated.

I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it, either. One of the downsides of a free platform that is not as robust as others that cost a pretty penny to maintain (another site is one of those)

I was out, not too far from Storrs, just now to pick up some pansies (need some color around our house), and roads seemed empty. I didn't know why nurseries were open, but I considered it essential. People just don't understand the social distancing thing. This nursery offered curbside delivery, so I called ahead and when I got there, the lady (no gloves on) stuck the receipt in my hand. What's the point of curbside pick up, if we're doing that kind of potential transference? I'm NOT criticizing her. I fully understand that we don't fully understand. It's so unnatural to act this way.

Coins are only marginally better, since so many have a layer of oils from the many hands they've gone through ... or worse. Are you cleaning the items from the grocery? Are you being careful about the packages that come to your door? For a time, this will be our new normal.

We are getting twice a day updates, reminders and positive affirmations from our division SVP. This morning there was a reminder not to take office equipment home. People have been trying to take office chairs, desk mounted monitors, telephones, etc. home with them. The only thing approved to take home are docking stations, keyboard, mice and free standing monitors (with the appropriate management signed equipment removal form). Staff were "politely" informed that security would prevent these items from being removed, and names would be taken. Crazy times!

I even put all packages out in our "quarantine box" in our garage overnight (apparently the virus doesn't thrive on cardboard).

Shiny cardboard like the inside packages is better for us. I am disappointed that there is not more of this type of practical information from trustworthy official sources. Naturally, social media is rife with BS stuff people just made up, which were then repeated a zillion times as fact.

So yesterday I found a $20 bill in the base of a shrub and unthinkingly picked it up. Now it is in a plastic zip lock and I swabbed myself and my door nob etc. Our county has 19 confirmed cases of you know what. Over double that of any other county. Summertime Californians are coming in early. Don't know if any of the cases are from them.

Not going to lie, as a general rule, I hate conference calls. But I had two today and have one tomorrow. It was nice to hear my co-workers voices. Also, I am part of several Microsoft team chats, as my company has it's HQ in FL, and my far-flung equivalent co-workers are all across 17 states. We are keeping each other up to date on how to use our all new systems, and keeping each other as sane as this group could be....a little sunshine on this dreary, rainy day in CT.

Did you see a little guy in a green outfit, kind of looking like a leprechaun, running away?

It's a beautiful, sunny day here, a little chilly. I am rather pleased that I was able to score a 4-pack of toilet paper at Stop and Shop today at 7 AM. Those senior hours only paid off! I could only buy one (limit), but I'm okay with that. It's the little victories...!

I'm ok here in Manhattan. Have taken the subway a few times, completely armored (N95 mask, rubber gloves, etc.). Visited my son in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, I walked !!) and we had lunch in McCarren park on Wednesday. If I didn't know better, I would have said it was a normal Saturday afternoon in the park. Plenty of 20 somethings walking and running around without any type of PPE. Though, in fairness, no groups larger than 2 congregating together. Stay safe Husky fans.

Can stop beating myself up about my gym routine. It's been under mandatory closure for about 2 weeks and the County just extended its broad closure list through April 17. Be surprised if it is lifted then, but we'll see.
