Look at Lou in this Pix used in the Naismith announcement. She has tucked her jersey shoulder straps. Can they not make a comfy jersey top? I am so tired of watching players fiddling with this kind of thing in game. What's up with that?

I would love it if some reporter would ask players about this. I think some of it is due to improper cut of the jersey, but some may be an affectation, or a desire to make a statement. On a related note, I hate the curl-over of the waistband which is so omnipresent (not on UConn) which is clearly a fashion statement, not a fit issue.

I'm a crusty ol' fart who played baseball as a youngin' and was often seen to be pinching, pulling, scratching, adjusting, and generally mucking around with my uniform back in the day... so why young women tinker with their uni's is probably something I'll never discover and if I were to ever discover the real reason, I'd most likely find myself in the hoosegow explaining why I was at the window that late at night..... sounds like a bad idea... so leave me out of this.... <backing away quitely>

Affectation...Word of The Day. Thanks Phil... Is it an affectation to use the word affectation? Possibly but it has no effect on me.

I've wondered about their uniforms, too. Notice that every new UConn jersey has narrower shoulder straps? Eventually they'll look like the men's, whatever they look like.
No UConn player will ever fold in her shoulder straps or fold over her waistband as long as CD is around.

Just a guess on my part, but maybe by rolling the shoulders under the bra strap keeps it from rubbing against the skin which some may find irritating and distracting. There are certain sweaters and tops I wear that I am constantly fussing with the neckline because I don't like the feel of it against my neck.
