As some here may know, I lurk on Volnation just to keep my dislike of the color Orange up there with Diana. Well, they have this thread about UConn's schedule, which contains discussion of the AAC and some more blitter and then the usual stupid Geno hating gets going. Into which drops this little Freudian spot on jewel: " They play in a crappy conference, ESPN dotes on them, Geno doesn't always tuck his shirt-tail in blah blah.
Just say what's really on your mind ("God in heaven PLEASE don't put us in their bracket")"
Cracked me up. Hope you get a chuckle too. Charlie is now projecting them to stay in their home region as a 2, with Florida State the 2 in Albany.

Just read the whole thread........ Geno is a cheater so his accomplishments mean nothing, and our conference sucks so we suck. The SEC is almighty and powerful. The big east also sucked apparently.
The last time any SEC team made the final four George Bush was president.
Best part was that Tennessee lost 3 of their best players and where would we be if we lost 3 of our best. Problem with that argument is 3 of our best are All Americans and superior to 3 of their best, with Harrison the only AA talent playing this year.
Can they please be sent to Albany?

I visit VolNation on occasion also. I was thinking that they're similar to every other teams board without a huge moderator presence but than I realized that we don't have that huge moderator influence here and I have yet to read anything close to as derogatory as the comments that are made about Geno and other Huskies on their board. I'm left with only one conclusion. Too much inbreeding among Lady Vol fans.

I really liked (enjoyed) the premise of the OP Since we have such a crappy conference, the games are merely scrimmages; i.e.: practice games. With so much practice, when it comes to playing legitimate opponents, we have so much practice under our belts, that we annihilate them. Not such a bad theory really.

Just went over the mountain and read the thread Aside from some mud-slinging at the end, it seems quite sane, Almost envious.
Many posters, whether UT fans, SC or even our ole buddy Reno put the matter in a thoughtful perspective. If you take the time to read the thread, you'll find many reasoned responses. There's always the UTenn crazy, but on the whole it's non-offensive.
And it proposes an interesting theory, that Geno can rest his regulars throughout the conference season as much as he wishes to…therefore retaining freshness.

The last time any SEC team made the final four George Bush was president. Which one? George the Greater or George the Lesser? (and, yes, that is deliberately ambiguous. Which is the lesser of the two Walkers?).

Volnation is also educational - I just learned that Pat never EVER EVER EVER committed anything even remotely close to a recruiting violation and would not ever consider doing so. Why, to even suggest such a thing is heresy.
SO GLAD I am not a UT fan. Even those who climbed out of the cesspool of the Summitt (probably to save a buck !) are delusional.

So, the premise that UConn, "when they do play a formable foe they play outstanding because of all the "practice games" they endure.", is credible? I'm not sure what a formable foe is.

Ha-ha. When you pay as much as Geno does for his shirts, they get tucked in. (he probably has somebody to do it for him )

Of course they've, in the past, also made the exact opposite theory, that because UCONN plays in such a crappy conference, they aren't toughened up enough to win in the NCAA's (and of course the complimentary UCONN will fade away because they are in the crappy conference). Me thinks they're

As is true in ever UConn thread amongst the orange cool aid crowd, the recruitment of Maya and the "no one will ever best Pat" themes have been rewarmed and advanced to reassure the deluded brethren. An unfortunate Cocky fan got involved so there is a new strand of we'll squash SC next year when are greats are back!
Most active thread on their board - a hoot.

Mucked around over there. Yes, I'm bored - no games! What is the claim regarding Maya's mother's house?

For those who enjoy reading the descent into irrationality of LV nation, here is a link to a thread on the free board at the Scout site. mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=7&f=1372&t=13710401There are a lot of LV fans that I enjoy going back and forth with, and the volnation site has many posters who aren't living in the past and aren't filled with bitterness. In addition, I like this year's LV team. They play hard, they work together, and are IMO the best team Tenn has had since Parker left. I'd love to see them in Albany. But I'd also love to shut up all those idiots who belittle UConn by insulting the AAC by having them lose to USF in say, the S16.
